FOR PARADISE HOA HOMEOWNERS:

Do you object to having an "Annual Meeting" five days before Christmas  on Zoom?  Do you want an opportunity to have a REAL Annual Meeting, where homeowners can share their views and concerns directly with the Board?

Annual Meetings are for more than just holding an election.  They are our once-a-year  opportunity to gather together, share views and concerns, and address the Board directly.  They promote homeowner involvement and a sense of community.

Holding the Annual Meeting FIVE DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS is a way to insure minimal participation, as is the use of a rubber-stamp ballot to establish a quorum.

Both the Rockland County Legislature and the Piermont Village Board have been holding in-person meetings for some time now - with appropriate COVID precautions.  The Rockland County Democratic Committee held a large in-person caucus last fall at an outdoor pavilion in a park.  We have such a pavilion adjacent to our property.  Furthermore, the Board could require that those attending be vaccinated and wear masks.  It could restrict attendees to one person per unit.  A meeting in the spring at the Goswick Pavilion would allow in-person attendance while continuing to maintain COVID precautions.  Gathering at Village Hall might also be an option.

In other words, there are other options besides a pro-forma meeting designed to minimize participation.  If you agree that WE DESERVE A REAL ANNUAL MEETING, click on the "SIGN OUR PETITION" button in the box to the right below the picture and fill out the form.

GREAT NEWS !!!

Joint Statement from Piermont Village Mayor Bruce Tucker and the Piermont Landing Homeowners Association Board:

After hearing the concerns of Piermont Landing and Village Residents concerning the use of non-organic fertilizers and pesticides on the Landing property, the Landing Board has unanimously voted to immediately discontinue the application of those products on Piermont Landing property.

The Piermont Landing Board will, in the future, only use organic applications on their property. The Landing Board is in the process of establishing a program to facilitate this end result.

The Village Board and the Landing Board appreciate the time and effort of our residents to maintain and keep our Village environmentally clean and safe for everyone.

Thank you,

Bruce Tucker, Mayor

About Us

The Piermont Pier Alliance was formed in response to Piermont Landing's decision to use chemical landscaping on the Piermont Pier,  This reversed a 28 year practice of abstaining from using pesticides.  We oppose this change in policy.  We advocate for non-toxic land management and against the aesthetic use of pesticides for landscape maintenance.

Keep reading to learn more about the history of the Piermont Pier and about why we should all choose non-toxic land care over conventional chemical landscape maintenance.

If you have questions or if you would like to receive action alerts so that you can support our efforts, please send us a note and tell us who you are and why you support us.  Sign our petition to oppose the use of pesticides. Write to us at PiermontPierAlliance@aol.com.  Rest assured - you will be never be asked for a financial contribution.
